It's 5 am... do you know where your child is?

Unfortunately, this morning my child was standing about a centimeter away from my face smiling and asking for "dinner".

Initial reactions from Mommy:

1. This.Is.Not.Happening.
2. Maybe if I act like I am still sleeping, she will go back to bed.
3. This.Is.Not.Happening.
4. What are you, stupid? It's called breakfast!
5. Did I really just think that about my kid? Oh wait, THIS.IS.NOT.HAPPENING!

For the love of pete, Margot has been getting up at o'dark thirty the last month. Ben and I have just about had it, frankly. We have tried everything - black out shades, later bed time, earlier bed time, running her extensively before bed.... we are drawing a blank. I am getting this horrible feeling that she is going to be a super duper morning person like my Mom, who thinks it is "fun" to get up at 5am. I know I don't have much room to bitch here since Margot has always been a good sleeper, but I am so tired today my eyes are crossed. Any ideas for us?

Yeah I've got an idea for you . . . teach her where the milk and cereal is! :)

P.S. I think it might be something with the moon because Elise started pulling this with us recently as well, but with her it is standing in her crib pointing at us going "uh, uh, uh, uh" (yes, she still sleeps in our room . . . I don't want to fight that battle just yet) :)

I like Trisha's idea. :)
Leave out a saran-wrapped Pop-Tart for her on the counter and cup of milk with a lid in the fridge. :P

Okay....seriously now....I know, firsthand, this isn't a good idea. Zander awoke early, the other morning and when we woke up we found him on the couch enjoying a Family-size bucket of Blue Bunny Vanilla Ice cream.
Granted, he appeared to only enjoy a few bites. But still.....
