A New Vision

You may have noticed that I changed Margot's blog around a bit, editing a few colors here and there. I have been ASHAMED at the job I have done updating my daughter's life for the past few months, and have decided right now to try and do a better job. Sometimes I lose track of why I really love this blog, and then I kick myself and read through a few archive posts. I can't wait for the day that Margot herself can read through these scattered notes about her life and hopefully enjoy her Mother's freaky sense of humor (or lack of humor, depending on the day).

Big changes around la Casa de Jarrell the last few weeks. Most importantly, Margot is potty trained!! I didn't want to jump the gun and post some little snippet right away that I would have to mournfully retract a few days later, but we are into week three and charging right along. It literally took me 20 minutes to potty train that kid - and I am feeling pretty darn super-powerish about that, thank you very much. I would like to say that she is some sort of genius and I am the world's best potty trainer, but I did have a little help in the form of M&M's. Or a lot of help, really. That girl is just like her father - any and all types of SUGAR will turn her into a putty ready for the molding. We keep her on a pretty tight sugar leash, since she turns into a hyperactive 3 foot tornado with even a little of the white gold, so the promise of M&M's for a potty were too much for her. She has been poopin' and peein' on the potty consistently for weeks now, and only wears a diaper at night. It did take us a few days to figure out what the hell we were supposed to do out in public, but a brilliant idea from Ben (buy an extra potty seat insert to carry in diaper bag) solved that. It has been really fun watching her get dressed and put on her little panties. Not much on earth is cuter than little tiny toddler buns in undies.

Let's see, what else.... Oh, my car is in the shop. I know *GASP*... can you believe we have car trouble?? The car died while Ben was driving, and apparently has some sort of "electrical problem". Um, yeah. That sounds "expensive". And "inconvienient". Ugh.

We are dying to get better weather around here. Our tennis matches have been seriously restricted with all of the rain, and it has been so cold for the last few weeks. I have managed to get a few super shots of our little one though, as hours on end milling around the house seem to put her in supermodel mood.

All smiles

I hope you guys are all well. Check back often and get to buggin' me if I fall behind again!

All I can say is ADORABLE!!! I love the new glamour shot at the top and your stories are hillarious, as always :) I am so glad you get to do the trial-and-error with all this potty training stuff so I can just come to you for advice when I have to cross that bridge. Glad to have you back!
