One Amazing Dad

Happy Father's Day, Ben!

This weekend marks your "leather" anniversary of being a father. Your first anniversary we spent walking around Medford, willing little Margot to come out and meet us. You spend the majority of the day taking care of me, commiserating with me about the heat and helping my terribly swollen feet into the one pair of shoes I could wear. There was not much focus on you, but instead we were both giddy and terrified about the impending birth of our daughter.

Ready for the Picnic

Father's Day 2006 rolled around, and we were embroiled in three of the biggest changes we had ever encountered as a couple. I had quit my job. We had moved to the other side of the state. We had a TODDLER who was just beginning to show her personality. Again, there was not much focus on you. You spend the majority of your day taking care of Margot and I. We stuck close together that day, as a family, and hoped for the best as things were beginning to settle down.

My Daddy

This year, we are much more relaxed. You are an amazing Dad, who takes care of his family and always puts his girls first. You are everything to your daughter, and to me. You are durable, flexible, and often terribly worn, but you still put us first. One of your most endearing qualities is your kindness, Ben. And you are doing a lovely job passing these qualities on to our daughter.

Kitty

Margot may not be able to express it to you in words yet, but it is obvious in her actions that she is being raised by a loving family and has complete devotion from her father. She is strong, independent and loving, just like her Dad. I am so proud of the job you are doing taking care of our daughter. We will celebrate you properly this weekend, and be forever thankful that you are in our lives.

One Happy Family

Love,
Lauren
