Happy Thanksgiving Margot!

Last night, we celebrated Thanksgiving in a very traditional way, surrounded by family and good food. Margot met her Great Grandma and Grandpa Illig for the first time - true to form, she of course teared up when they looked at her and buried her head in my shoulder when they spoke to her. I assured them this was her way of saying "Nice to meet you!", but somehow I don't think they believed me.

Margot sat at the head of the table, wielding her fork and eating her weight in sweet potatoes. She politely handed me every bite of turkey we put on her tray, made a face at the stuffing and threw the broccoli salad I made. I suppose this is the hierarchy of toddler dinners. Hand it over = No thanks. Make a face = smells funny. Throw at Mom = HOW DARE YOU FEED ME THIS CRAP!!

We topped of the night with homemade pumpkin pie and a few sleepy hugs. For all of our friends and family who celebrated with their own, we hope you had a wonderful night and remembered the blessings in your lives. I know I sure did

Miss Margot is beautiful.

Thanks for your kind words today. They help so much.

We're hanging in and much of it is due to the comfort I receive from reading the words of people I've never "met".
