Gon Dato and the bridge of Avignon

Margot has been a music lover since day one, and I can honestly say that she would even rock out in utero when I would listen to certain music. We have always fostered this love of music, both with radio and instruments. She loves to play with Ben on the piano, shake her maracas and beat on the drums she inherited from her buddy Clayton.

Lately, she has really began singing along with her favorite songs. It has been a real hoot listening to her interpret the words, and she kind of just mumbles (like her Mom) when she doesn't know the words. She is particular to Raffi, Pink Martini, The Bottle let me Down and Feist. Picture something along the lines of this:

"on the bridge Avignon, da da da da Avignon" to the tune of On the bridge by Raffi.
"Senor Gon Dato was a cat, el senor GON TACO!!" to the tune of Don Gato.
"1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10" to the tune of 1,2,3,4 by Feist.

Ben got a digital recorder for Christmas and I have been trying to get her recorded on some of this stuff, but she has terminator radar and immediately ceases singing when I find that thing, or she will only belt out her tunes in the car when I am driving. One of these days I am going to get it and post it here for posterity!

That's so adorable!! I hope you can get it recorded. I'd love to hear her singing! :)

Millie loves music too. Her current favorite CDs are "Catch the Moon" by Elizabeth Mitchell / Lisa Loeb and "Curious George" by Jack Johnson. (Both awesome, by the way.) It totally melts my heart when she sings along!

She also likes when I play the Indigo Girls, Brandi Carlile, and Jack Johnson's other CDs - so that's fun. ;)
