My Little Valentine

Happy Valentine's Day, Margot!

Already in this short month, you have thrown the biggest fit ever in the form of glass shattering screams and your little face turning the color of freshly sliced beets. Your tiny fists were shaking and your eyes were glittering with anger. Frankly, if I hadn't been so concerned you were going to pass out from lack of oxygen, I would have laughed. Oh yeah, and the fact that you have NEVER done anything like that before was actually kind of scary. What was this tremendous tantrum over, you ask? I wouldn't let you play with the chef's knife I was using to make your lunch with. Can you believe that shit? I know - your Mother is a total fascist.

You are growing every day it seems, and have now become quite the helper. You love to shuttle items between your father and I, and have become quite adept at throwing things away. Granted, I did not want to throw my cell phone away quite yet, but the thought was there. You will take a baby wipe and "clean" the floor, "clean" your food tray, and "clean" anything else that happens to be standing still. You are very good at following directions, and I get quite a bit of joy from bossing you around the house. I am taking advantage while I can.

Yesterday, I met you and your father at the Dollar Tree to do a little Valentine's shopping. You put your arms up to me and smiled a smile that could stop traffic, so I picked you up and (gladly) carried your soft little body all over the store, touching everything. When I tried to put you down, you clamped on to my neck and would not let go. Sometimes when this happens, I act a little exasperated and say "Margot, you are getting heavy!". You always smile and pat me on the back, letting me know it is my job to cart you around like the royalty you are. But just between you and me, I secretly live for the times that you grab on to me and make me feel like I am the most important person in the universe. Thank you for that.

You woke up this morning like you always do, smiling and ready to take on the world. We had breakfast together, shared a laugh and some scrambled eggs. I have received no greater Valentine's day gift than you and your father. Enjoy your day, little one, and thanks for being my little Valentine.

Love,
Mama

I swear she gets cuter with each picture I see!
Welcome to the world of tantrums. Ava tips her head back and screams at the top of her lungs when she is denied something that she desperately needs. Luckily so far its only been at home.
It sounds like Margot and Ava have a lot in common. If location wasnt a problem I know that they'd be fast friends...and double trouble.
