Daily Life Update

1. Baba

4. Kisskiss
5. Kacky

I'm still waiting to get tired of Margot talking like most people said we would. Though sometimes there's a good amount of screaming I could do without. I love it when she counts and says herABCs and puts Kitty Meow Meow to bed. And when she asks how we slept and how work was and everything.

Once again, naps have become something of an issue. It started in December and has been kind of trying since then. Until November she would go take a nap at 12:30 for threeish hours. Then that stopped. After weeks of trial and error we've settled on a 2 pm nap time. It can sometimes be hard to figure out what to do, since if we're out after 1 she's so worked up that she won't sleep. It's pretty special. But when she doesn't nap, it's a 6:30 bedtime, so that's not so bad.

Last month, discipline became a little more tricky. Margot would do something naughty and then ask for a timeout. Then she would happily sit through her timeout and leap up gleefully when it was over. So timeouts are a thing of the past and we've started taking things away when she's naughty. No songs, no coloring, things like that. It seems to work fairly well, when we can think of something to take away. Luckily, there's usually something.

Despite these small issues, things are really fun right now. She's learning so much. Every time I think she's so grown up now, she surprises me with something even more grown up. And she's always pretending. One of her favorites nowadays as pretending her water is coffee or Diet Coke. Or pretending to cook or clean. And even when she's exhausted and incorrigible like she is as I'm writing this, she's funny and delightful.

If you hadn't guessed, the list of words at the top of the post is a quiz. These are all words Margot says that mean something else. Can you guess what they are? The answers are after the picture:

Smiles

I love your list! What a cute idea.
I must admit, I didn't get any of them right!

p.s.
Jason is such a dweeb. ;)

That is adorable that she puts herself in time out . . . although I can understand how it could be frusterating from a dicipline point of view. I am so glad you are going through all this years in advance of us so we can pick up on your techniques :)

Jach, you are a dweeb, but a funny dweeb!

We are still trying to figure out the discipline thing... Sometimes I think life would be easier if we just beat on her :)
