A few things I need

I love the internet and can't image what my life would be like without it, but sometimes I get sucked into the void and have a hard time clawing my way back out. A bit dramatic, I know, but really?? Can you think of any aspect of your life that hasn't been changed by the "series of tubes?" I was planning to search around a bit for gift ideas, and ended up finding about ten thousand cool sites I have to share with you guys. So, go check out these sites ASAP and drool at all the cool things inside for a few hours. You will feel better! And I will feel better, because others will be sucked into the void!

1. WantNot

This is a site where some lovely soul spends their entire day scouring the net for deals, coupons and freebies. They have codes about free shipping, price matching deals, and even give away deals. I have only recently found this, but I.am.in.love.

2. Mighty Junior

Super cool kiddo site. They list fun toys, clothes, and other items that are kiddo related and where to find them. It is kind of like a shopping blog meets Oprah. The site was started by two well known bloggers, and they do an awesome job of updating. Super fun!

3. Etsy

This is a site where you can peddle your homemade wares. Tons of people have shops and sell all kinds of things from jewelry, baby gifts, clothes.... the list goes on. One of my favorite things on Etsy right now is this, and I also am in love with these. Seriously, this site can kill an entire day! So many pretty things to look at.

4. SkullCat

These people are Portlanders, and began selling at Saturday Market. I need this bag so bad I can taste it. Super fun, hip and creative. Love it.

5. DB Clay

Again, a little Portland love. Everything they make is from DUCT TAPE. How cool is this? Really interesting stuff, and Ben has a wallet. I have a business card holder. Buy from these people now, I'm telling you guys..... Pretty soon Hollywood is going to pick up on them and they will be out of my price range. I love them all.

Well, I hope I have inspired a little shopping joy in everyone. Have fun scouring for your own fun deals and report back!

I read "My Stroke of Insight" in one sitting - I couldn't put it down. I laughed. I cried. It was a fantastic book (I heard it's a NYTimes Bestseller and I can see why!), but I also think it will be the start of a new, transformative Movement! No one wants to have a stroke as Jill Bolte Taylor did, but her experience can teach us all how to live better lives. Her TED.com speech was one of the most incredibly moving, stimulating, wonderful videos I've ever seen. Her Oprah Soul Series interviews were fascinating. They should make a movie of her life so everyone sees it. This is the Real Deal and gives me hope for humanity.
